The Catawba Nation Archives is open by appointment only from 9 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday, and is located in the historic Catawba Cultural Center building. The Cultural Center includes a free museum and special programs space focusing on the past, present, and future of the Catawba Nation. There is also a store in the Cultural Center offering traditional crafts and artworks from Catawba and other native artisans. Additionally, the Cultural Center building is home to the Catawba Community Resource Center library and maker-space. Outside, a traditional dancing ground faces the front of the building where amphitheater-style seating allows audiences to enjoy traditional dances and ceremonies during the Catawba Nation's festivals and celebrations, while around back you'll find the Yehasuri Trailhead leading to the Catawba Indian Nation Greenway Trail along the Catawba River, part of the Carolina Thread Trail. Make the time to enjoy all that the Cultural Center has to offer when you visit, and always feel free to approach a member of the staff with any questions that you have.- we'll be happy to answer them all!
